Terrible Times Coming Before the End of the Age
“And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world? ” -Matt 24:3 (KJV)
Jesus sat down with His disciples on the Mt of Olives and they asked Him what signs would mark the end of the age. Jesus responded in Matt 24 with some very pertinent signs that would preclude His second coming (not to be confused with the rapture of the church or bride). Not many people are paying attention to these signs today and few Christian churches teach them but make no mistake they have been coming and are increasing in intensity and frequency as a woman in labor or as with birth pains. It’s these things, these events that every believing person who identifies as a Christian should be aware of and watching for. Below I will outline some signs but there are several more as written in scripture.

- Deception – know your enemy
- Many to come in Christ’s name – Biblical illiteracy
- Wars and rumors
- Nations and Kingdoms against each other
- Famines and pestilences
- Earthquakes in various places
- Deliver up to be killed and hated
- Many offended
- Betrayal of one another
- Hate one another
- False prophets – much deception
- Iniquity will abound
- Love waxing cold
- Brother betrays brother, father-son
- Hated by all men
- Days of Lot and Noah
- Great EQ’s
- Fearful sights and great signs from heaven
- Persecution of saints, prisons
- Put to death
- In your patience (perseverance) possess your souls – Luke 21:19
- Perilous times – 2 Tim 3:1-5
- Evil me and seducers getting worse, deception
- No sound doctrine, teachers having itching ears
- Many depart from faith
- Scoffers
- End of all things is at hand – be sober and watch in prayer
- Evil men get worse, deceiving and being deceived
Spiritual Blindness
Yes, this is a terrible list but make no mistake they will occur and are occurring right now today. We as Christians cannot afford to be ignorant of the Bible in these fast approaching final days of this age. We must read God’s word daily and know the signs that will preclude the Lord’s Second Coming. We cannot continue to remain in the dark and illiterate about the Bible – its message of love, hope, mercy, grace and salvation yet also replete with the consequences of unrepentant sin. This is the time to wake up to the reality of what is coming against all men.God is good and kind but there is also a severity about Him … this we must understand.
“Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off. ” – Romans 11:22 (KJV)
Spiritual blindness as a spiritual disease has infected Christendom here in America (and around the world) and is causing many not to see the stark reality of God’s judgments revealed quite bluntly in the Book of Revelation. The Lord has told us in His word that we knowing these things should live a life of holiness and Godliness -2 Pet 3:11. And He further says we are to:
“But watch yourselves lest your hearts be weighed down with dissipation and drunkenness and cares of this life, and that day come upon you suddenly like a trap. For it will come upon all who dwell on the face of the whole earth. But stay awake at all times, praying that you may have strength to escape all these things that are going to take place, and to stand before the Son of Man.”” -Luke 21:34-36 (ESV)
Make A Decision
Please, if you don’t know Jesus Christ as your Savior or have been sitting on the fence putting off a decision to profess Him as your Redeemer, decide today. None of us knows when our last breath will be and once we step out of this life we have locked in where we will spend eternity. I urge you to make a decision for Christ now, today (Rom 10:9-10). Don’t put it off for none of us even knows if tomorrow will come – James 4:13-17.
