Bible Prophecy Commentary: Two Superpowers – Cat and Mouse:
This is amazing to say the least! Is Russia trying to play a intimidation game? What are they up to? As all eyes are focused on the riotous fires, protests and upheaval of Ferguson across our nation there seems to be something else afoot on the world stage. A scene playing out between Russia and the US… More [rotating] troops have been dispatched to areas of NATO some on Russian borders with equipment under the possible guise of drills and preparedness activities. Really, what does this portend? Is the resurgence of Russia’s military fist shaking the military establishment of the US into some action showing resolve to our NATO friends? What is really going on? I think that time will reveal the purpose of Russia coming back on the scene with its military foot heavy on the pedal but until then we read about Russia’s pokes into the muscle of the US and NATO allies.
From a Bible Prophecy perspective, it’s very possible that Russia is starting down the road to fulfill the ancient prophecy found in Eze 38 and 39, where they lead an hefty invasion against Israel – the Gog/Magog war. IMO, in order to do this Russia will have to exercise its military might again and again showing it is not afraid anymore of US domination on the world stage. They are engaging in many intimidation campaigns signaling they seem to be doing more than just playing and they don’t seem to be backing down. Their incursions into Crimea (assimilation) and now Ukraine are impressive especially against world opinion and even sanctions. Look out folks, these Russian’s have been a stark foe against the freedoms of the world for some time now. I don’t believe they are kidding about what they want to do; it’s kind of like a cat playing with a mouse.
