Do You Walk With the Lord Every Day?

"Can two walk together, except they be agreed?" -Amos 3:3 (KJV)

When you want to know about something or someone you communicate in some fashion to find out more. My question today is do you really know who Almighty God is? Do you know about Him? His ways? His thoughts? His word? How He reacts to sin, confession, repentance? What He thinks about sin and just as important what He thinks about your sin and your walk with Him?

When  you get into God's word and really read it for understanding you can't help but be convicted of your own daily sin and how it can affect your relationship with Christ. If you are not impacted about your sin then something is very wrong in your reading, communication and relationship with Him. Let me say that just going to church doesn't get it. What I mean is, just attending church once or twice a week with others, singing songs, and then listening most of the time to a flavored, softened and bland Gospel message will not necessarily get you closer to Almighty God. In fact, if you are not being confronted about your sin when you go to church then perhaps you are attending the wrong church.

"Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?" -Luke 18:8b (KJV)

Where is your faith at today? What's it in and who is it in? The world, its stuff or in Jesus Christ? From my witnessing and talking to many people, listening to preachers and reading extensively about today's Gospel message from countless pulpits, it seems that our faith in Christ has lost it's meaning – lost its teeth, if you will. You see, today we must make a sincere effort to get alone with God, pray and seek His face – but this has to be done sincerely and not half-heartedly. Then through the power and presence of the Holy Spirit, He will show you about your lifestyle and about your sin -John 16:8. You see there are many professing Christians who just put the Lord on the shelf, take Him off for a Sunday and/or Wed evening service then go right back home and put Him on the shelf. My question today revolves around this – how much time in your life do you spend thinking, talking to others, worshiping Him and telling others about Him?

Do you talk to your family about the free gift of salvation? How many of your family members are saved? Do they even know what salvation is? Some time ago I was giving one of my family members a ride home and I asked him if he knew about salvation in Christ and he said no. Now this person was a member of and attended a well-known denomination. He didn't know and he didn't seem to care much about it. And that is one of the problems of Christendom today. Many just flatly don't care about God and what He thinks about you. As Christians we need to be getting His message out even to family and friends, even though they may get offended and not "feel" like talking about the Lord. Take a look at these two verses from Jeremiah 9:23-24. Read it carefully and see what the Lord delights in.

"Thus saith the LORD, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches: But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the LORD which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the LORD" -Jer 9:23-24 (KJV)

Did you hear Him? He delights in you understanding and knowing Him for He is a God of love, judgment and righteousness. Please let this sink in for a few moments … So in your life do you know Almighty God and do you understand Him? If not, why not? He knows your heart and your ways already, He knows where you are at with Him. You can't fool Him by attending church for the sake of attending church to be seen by others or to get a 'warm fuzzy'. You can't fool Him by a skillfully formed religious veneer that you wrap yourself in. He is God and His desire is for YOU to know Him. How do you do that, you may ask? By seeking His face (Psa 27:8), praying, reading His word daily [for meaning] and walking with Him with every step you take every day and foremost – take Him wherever you go. In your actions, words and deeds. In your choice of movies and TV, books, magazines, etc. Do you do the things, say the words and think the thoughts that reflect His glory? He desires that you have a deep personal relationship with Him and to do this you must make the time daily to be with Him. 

Remember, if you are too busy with your everyday affairs and cares then you are simple too busy. Time to reassess and reevaluate the priorities in your life. There will be no excuses for your refusal to take time and learn and know the Lord more – none, notta, zero! Please take some time today to reflect on where you are at with your daily walk with your Redeemer and Friend – the Lord Jesus Christ. And please do not treat your Creator as a second class friend or as an acquaintance. He is your Lord or so should be – that is if you claim to be a Christian. He should be the Number One in your life above friends, family and your stuff – Luke 9:57-62.
