Bible Prophecy Commentary – Pestilences:
So here in America the deadly Ebola virus has all but disappeared from the nighty news and daily online reads yet remains extremely dangerous over in West Africa. It seems like the seriousness of anything is ratcheted up or ratcheted down by its relevance via the talking heads on the nighty news broadcasts. How tragic! Therefore, it seems all is well in America, right? All but one of the Ebola-stricken patients have seemed to come through the virus’ ills and well, back to normal we go – peace and safety. All’s OK now?
The news builds it up and then when they decide there is to be no more reporting perhaps because it has lost its value in the ratings, so it becomes extinct in our purview of what is really of importance in the world. Folks, the hour is late and this virus could mutate and get a whole lot worse in the world. But … who’s watching this and the other virus that’s affecting the young here in America?
Also, there must be concern for a sense of heightened awareness in all aspects of news on TV and the Internet, especially in the days we are living in now. Christians must remain vigilant at all times. But, these days who is really concerned? Who is standing their watch to alert others about the things warned in the Bible concerning the times before Christ returns again?
Ebola – as a pestilence – is just one of the warning signs Jesus foretold in Matt 24, Mark 13, Luke 17 and 21 and Rev 6.
We must continue to stay alert and sober to the rapid changing world conditions especially in the Middle East. Wars, terror, uprisings, death, killings, economic troubling times and the list goes on. Please take note of these things and prepare your hearts by reading God’s word daily while remaining in constant prayer. I am confident that before this all gets better, it will get a whole lot worse – Rev 6-19. Are you ready for what’s ahead?
